Early stage of pregnancy....

The pregnancy indicator showed "+" on 23 February 2006. I did the test with Jimmy around. We were looking closely at the indicator...think we did not know how to feel at that point in time as the indicator begins to turn "+" blue. I believed both of our reaction to the results were like..."Hmm.....this is it, we are going to have a baby". Perhaps we were not that prepared for it, hence our reaction. We did not feel excited at all...more like overwhelmed by the fact that there is a small life growing inside my tummy and we gonna be daddy and mummy.

Think by the time we had the test done, i was around 5 weeks. Was comtemplating whether should i see a gynae now or visit a GP. GP will make you take somemore tests to confirm your pregnancy so no point going....Consulted my dear cousins, asking whether any recommendations for gynaes......Grace called her gynae and the charges seemed pretty reasonable hence she made an appointment for me to visit Prof Chirstopher Chen at Gleneagles.


Appointment was made on 25 February 2006. Were made to do urine tests and blood tests. After a brief consultation with Prof, we were told to go back for the blood test results 2 hrs later. 2 hrs later, Prof assessed the blood test, he said just as he had expected, the blood test results reflected that my progesterone level were very low......i needed to have a jab and he prescribed daily dosage of 3 tubes of progesterone cream jabs. On top of that, i had to take folic acid as well as this other white color medicine (forgotten the name).

Every nite diligently, poor Jimmy has to do the jab for me....its like practically he is "suffering" with me. This jab went on for the next 2 1/2 months....till 16 weeks....was relieved when Prof said that I do not have to continue with this daily cream jab. Despite having the jab everyday, I hate the feeling of the tube inside me....3 times per nite somemore!!....Gosh, there is always the fear....

1st trimester was pretty smooth sailing for me apart from those jabs. Thank God, I didnt experience any morning sickness and there wasn't any much cravings (Jimmy, u damn lucky). In turn, Mr Chan was the one who got more cravings than the preggie mum-to-be....As for tireness, I didn't sleep much earlier as well.

There were several tests to go through upon reaching 16th week of the pregnancy. There was the DS test, Triple tests etc. Thank God results of the tests were normal.
